Activating your Intuition.
by Simone Wright
Your Intuition has been at work your entire life... it isn't something that you need to have installed or study for years to develop. Some people rely on their Intuition on a daily if not a moment to moment basis - others perhaps wouldn't know what their Intuition was if it dropped guidance on their head like a boulder. (Which often times it has been known to do)
While Intuition is a natural ABILITY - for many of us - it isn't a natural SKILL. It does take a bit of training and awareness to learn how to use it proficiently. And like developing any new skill, it takes a bit of practice and focus in the initial stages before it becomes First Nature. Just remember how you felt when you were learning to drive a car - you had to pay specific and constant attention at the beginning - Now you don't even have to think about what you are doing when you get behind the wheel. Developing your Intuition can happen the same way.
#1 - ACTIVATING INTUITION
a. Getting Coherent - Balancing the Heart and Brain rhythms through focused intention and relaxation, shifts the body into prime states of hightened function. Creating coherence in the heart in turn creates coherence in the brain whose level of activity determines the mind state through which Intuition communicates.
b. Ask the Right Questions - All problems have solutions and the power of a properly worded question or 'Intuitive directive' may offer 90% of the solution before any Intuition has even been activated. The greatest solutions can and often are discovered not in finding the correct answer, but rather in asking the correct question.
#2 - RECEIVING INFORMATION
a. Becoming Clear - Keeping the body and mind free of static interference is crucial. Remaining emotionally and intellectually neutral and free of preconceived ideas, fears, worries or other notions will ensure receptivity and clear impressions. It is important as you move forward that you understand what your motives, attitudes and prejudices might be and what the ultimate Intention is to your seeking Intuitive direction.
b. Opening the Senses - Intuition communicates through ALL of the five senses and will often come through the sense that is strongest for us. Remember that Intuition speaks in symbols, metaphors, and imagery - NOT in logical, rote or 'verbatim' language. You may get a specific feeling, hear a line from a song, or get a flash of imagery - use them all - they are all pieces to the solution you are looking for.
#3 - INTERPRETATION
a. Creating Meaning - Pay attention to the impressions or images you receive - a picture is worth a thousand words. It will be up to you to 'move into' the message to determine what the greater meaning of it is. Intuition resides on the right side of the brain where symbolism rules. Look at the impression from all sides - ask questions of it and as you make your way through it - the solid message will eventually appear.
b. What Gets Your Attention - Intuition operates like your own personal language, specific to your needs, your questions and your situations. Pay attention to what 'catches your eye' or gets your attention as you move ahead. Guidance may appear in a song on the radio, an ad on TV or a word from a friend. The information you need can and often does come from anywhere - it is our Intuition saying "Look here. Notice this. Take this step."
#4 - TAKING ACTION
a. Following Guidance - Intuition will always give us the answers. We don't always follow the directions. Sometimes the guidance will require us to really muster up some courage and do something we have never done before - or force us out of our comfort zone. Making a deal with yourself that you will 'follow the direction' and give yourself a deadline to do it is a good way to break the inertia of 'stuckness' and build a momentum to achieving your goals.
b. New Ideas and Solving Problems - Once Intuition is activated it will continue to give you guidance and offer solutions until the problem has been solved. Stay wide open to solutions and ideas that YOU may have never considered - and remember that the solution exists or the problem could not. It is just your job to stay clear, stay open and be willing to act when given the direction.
