Intuition and Empowered Decisions

Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Moe....
It's true, some of us make our decisions this way. How do you make your choices? Do you say a colorful little rhyme or do you draw straws or play rock, paper, scissors? Do you cross your fingers and hope for the best, or do you mull and ponder and pray and ask everyone else their opinion of what you should do?
Empowered decision making is a skill which requires a certain level of personal awareness and integrity and developing your Intuition can assist you in making strong and empowered choices that will serve you in all aspects of your life. Especially NOW when there is so much information being hurled at us from all sides, much of it conflicting and very little of it based in any sort of truth - our ability to access Intuitive guidance is more important than ever before.
We all know people (we may even be one of them) who have made a choice in the heat of the moment and lived to regret it later, or who have made a choice because someone else thought they should only to realize that it wasn't what they wanted at all.
The decisions of should I quit my job? Should I propose to or leave my partner? Should I expand my business? Should I get radical surgery are all very important choices to make ~ and the endless list of choices that we are faced with on a day to day basis ultimately determines the shape our lives take.
It is important to be very aware of your state of 'being' when you make choices.... are you feeling fear or doubt about it? Or does it feel solid and comfortable? Are you concerned about what others will think of your decision? Or do you feel a calm deep into your bones that your choice is correct? It is crucial to understand the emotions you are carrying as you make any important choice ~ if you are angry, frightened or nervous it is impossible to access your intuition to make the choice that may best serve you.
If you are faced with an important, or even a not so important decision, take some time to clear the chatter from your head. Take a few minutes to breathe, to become calm and abandon all emotion around the situation. When you have come to this place, then you can ask your inner wisdom for direction ~ you will know what to do by how your body communicates with you. A 'correct' choice will feel steady and calm, a choice that is not 'correct' for you will feel 'misaligned' to some degree.
When you feel doubt, that is your intuition telling you to 'Sit still, get clear, and ask yourself some questions.' Realize as well, that deciding NOT to choose is STILL a choice and sometimes that is the best choice to make in that moment. The most important question to ask about any choice you may have to make is "What is the emotion driving this choice? And if I can let go of that emotion, what does my heart tell me?"
When you can learn to listen to THAT intelligence, instead of the one yammering away in your head all the time, the ability to make strong choices becomes as easy as breathing ~ and your life will unfold exactly as it is meant to.
